Platelet rich plasma (PRP) or platelet rich fibrin matrix (PRFM) are injected to directly stimulate hair follicle activity using a patient's own platelet rich plasma. Hair rejuvenation can be used to improve male pattern hair loss and general hair thinning such as post-illness or pregnancy.

Following a consultation, you and your provider will discuss PRP vs. PRFM to determine the best treatment option for your concerns. PRFM contains a higher concentration of platelets and allows those platelets and growth factors to remain in the treated area for a longer period of time, resulting in a greater impact on follicle stimulation for hair growth.

What to Expect

Pre-Treatment

It is best to come to your appointment with a clean scalp.

Post-Treatment

You may gently wash your hair with lukewarm water 24 hours after your treatment.

Post-Treatment

Avoid exercise for 48 hours following hair rejuvenation treatment.

Post-Treatment

For 72 hours after treatment avoid, pools/oceans, or extreme temperatures (saunas, steam rooms, etc).

Post-Treatment

It is normal for the scalp to feel tender for a few days after injections. For discomfort, Tylenol can be used.

What should I expect immediately after the treatment?
You may experience mild soreness to the scalp following treatment. Tylenol and/or ice may be used to alleviate discomfort.

What results can I expect from the treatment?
Within 3-6 treatments or a sequence recommended by your medical provider, less scalp will be visible along with new hair growth in the areas treated.

When should I come back for my next treatment?
Hair Rejuvenation treatments are recommended every 4-6 weeks.

Is this treatment pregnancy safe?

Hair Rejuvenation treatments can be pregnancy and breastfeeding-safe. Please consult with your doctor.

Does it hurt?
Pain is mild to moderate and can be minimized with ice, pain distraction techniques and a topical numbing agent.
