Poly-L-lactic acid injections stimulate natural collagen and elastin production, improving volume, wrinkles, skin thickness and sagging for several months following treatment. 2-3 treatments spaced 4-8 weeks apart are recommended, along with a yearly maintenance vial.

What to Expect

Pre-Treatment

Avoid hyaluronic acid-based fillers in the same area of the Sculptra injections for 4 weeks prior to treatment

Pre-Treatment

Avoid dental procedures, including cleanings, and vaccinations two weeks prior to your dermal filler treatment.

Pre-Treatment

Avoid travel within 48 hours of receiving dermal fillers.

Post-Treatment

Bruising and swelling can occur, but will typically subside after a few days. You may apply arnica and ice (no longer than 5 min at a time) to the affected area periodically.

Avoid travel within 48 hours of receiving biostimulatory fillers (sculptra).

Post-Treatment

Avoid strenuous exercise, ibuprofen, aspirin or alcohol for 48 hours as this might increase your risk of bruising. For mild soreness/tenderness, Tylenol can be taken.

Massage 3 times per day for 3 minutes for 5 days immediately following treatment.

What should I expect immediately after the treatment?
Bruising and swelling may occur in the first 24-48 hours and should resolve in 1-2 weeks; results will continue to develop over 6 months.

What results can I expect from the treatment?
This treatment corrects wrinkles and sagging skin by stimulating collagen. You will notice that it redefines or softens contours by elevating recessed areas of skin. These results are long lasting with differences still noticeable after two years or more.

When should I come back for my next treatment?
2-3 treatments are recommended, with 4-8 weeks between each treatment. A yearly maintenance vial is suggested to maintain results.

Is this treatment pregnancy safe?

No, Sculptra is not recommended when pregnant or breastfeeding.

Does it hurt?
Pain is minimal and soreness post-treatment can be minimized with ice and Tylenol.
