What to Expect

Pre-Treatment

Avoid retinol and other actives for one week prior to treatment.

Pre-Treatment

Avoid sun exposure 2 weeks prior to treatment and sunless tanning treatment for 4 weeks prior to treatment.

Pre-Treatment

Avoid injectables, chemical peels, and other skin services for 2-4 weeks prior to treatment.

Post-Treatment

Your skin may feel very warm/hot for several hours after your treatment. You may use a fan to calm down the heat. Ice is not advised. If the hot sensation does not dissipate within 6 hours after treatment, please let your provider know.

Post-Treatment

It is okay to wear makeup immediately after treatment.

Post-Treatment

The morning after treatment, use a gentle cleanser followed by a hydrating and gentle moisturizer and sunscreen every day.

Post-Treatment

Avoid exercise and extreme heat (hot tubs, saunas) for at least 48 hours after treatment.

Post-Treatment

Do not use retinols or active chemical exfoliants (AHA/BHA) for the first week following your treatment.

Post-Treatment

Wear a moisturizing mineral-based sunscreen and avoid sun exposure for a minimum of 14-21 days depending on treatment intensity.

What should I expect immediately after the treatment?

You should expect 5-7 days of darkened pigment, redness and/or peeling.

What results can I expect from the treatment?

Dark spots and hyperpigmentation will begin to fade. There will also be a reduction in redness, rosacea, and capillaries. Skin will be left with a more even and brightened tone.

When should I come back for my next treatment?

In order to achieve optimal results, we typically suggest 3-6 treatments, spaced 4 weeks apart. Your provider will recommend a custom treatment plan.

Is this treatment pregnancy safe?

No, IPL is not recommended when pregnant or breastfeeding.

Does it hurt?

Clients could experience mild discomfort.
