HigherDose Infrared PEMF Go Mat

HigherDOSE Infrared Sauna is a treasured step in our self-care routine and now, they’ve introduced a way to get similar benefits from home, without the major sweat. Enter: the Infrared Go Mat. We knew you needed to experience the magic for yourselves. We’re thrilled to announce you can now enjoy the benefits as an add-on to any Standard Facial at JECT Bridgehampton.

To celebrate, we chatted with HigherDOSE co-founder, Katie Kaps, on her wellness journey, infrared technology and her self-care staples.

The JECT team is obsessed with all of HigherDOSE’s services and products. How did you discover infrared therapies and come to co-founding the company?

While working in investment banking at Merrill Lynch, I realized my true passion was wellness. I got hooked on healthy highs like running and decided to ditch finance for wellness startups––I was one of the first employees at Tough Mudder. When I met Lauren Berlingeri, my now business partner, she told me about infrared. I tried it, was immediately addicted, and knew we had to bring it to the masses. We started working together the next day!

What are the benefits of infrared sauna therapies?

There are so many benefits including: detoxification (it detoxifies 7x more than traditional saunas), anti-aging because infrared boosts collagen production, calorie burn, and mood boost, hence our tagline 'Get High Naturally'.

When do you use your Infrared Mat and how often?

Every chance I get! It’s so easy to hop on and off throughout the day. I’ll jump on while I’m on the phone, writing emails or watching TV. I also love using the mat when I’m meditating or doing breathwork. The gentle heat really helps relax the mind and body so I can get deeper into my practice.

You’re running a hugely popular brand and successful business. How do you recharge? What does self-care mean and look like to you?

It’s really easy to get caught up in the stress of running a business. However, cortisol is not good for self-care so I try to combat it with things that make me happy and relaxed. Some of my go-tos are running, music, tennis, travel, learning, hot/cold therapy, fashion, gratitude, giving….basically anything that provides either inspiration or perspiration.

What's the quirkiest thing you've tried in the name of wellness?

A few come to mind including running a full marathon, meditating in silence for 10 days, being sober for 14 months (and counting), 4 hr long NAD+ IV drips, and 5+ minute ice baths!

The bigger and weirder the challenge the better!

What does your skincare and beauty routine look like? What are your favorite treatments at JECT?

My skincare regime largely resembled that of a teenage boy until the ladies at JECT got me on track.  I love all the items in the JECT Glow Guide and these are now the basis of my routine. All of the services I’ve tried at JECT have been impeccable...and I’ve tried several :). The AquaGold is a surefire way to look amazing ASAP and I recently tried the Standard Facial with the HigherDOSE mat upgrade and the experience was divine.

JECT is my happy place!
